- Lean Startup and Design Thinking – how to put in place a process to innovate without major expense.
Ian Heywood is an academic and consultant with over 25 years experience of designing and developing research and educational programmes for academic and business audiences. Ian has a special interest in disruptive business models such as on-line learning, digital business and location based services. He is co-author of the best selling book An Introduction to Geographical Information systems (Pearson) which has sold over 50,000 copies and is now in its 4th edition. Ian has held a number of senior roles including: Founder and Director of the Ideas Academy – idea generation consultancy; Director of Growing Business and Skills Scottish Enterprise Grampian – Business Development; Director Of Learning Business Lab Ltd – Strategic Research Consultancy including lead researcher on projects with Rolls Royce, HSBC, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, News Corp International. Russell Williams is an experienced academic and trainer. His research interests and teaching expertise are centered on the areas of E-Commerce and Marketing. His most recent focus has been delivering core undergraduate and postgraduate marketing modules as well as postgraduate courses in the area of E-commerce. He is experienced in delivery of CPD training having delivered courses in the areas of marketing, international marketing and project management. Russell has experience as a small business owner, having created two Internet start-ups at the turn of the millennium. He has also worked as mentor for high-growth potential entrepreneurs.
